HELLO THERE
Hello, I’m Grace! Here’s little bit about me.
I currently work as a climate communications fellow for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Alaska region through The Great Basin Institute’s research associates program. I collaborate with FWS programs and external partners to identify and develop stories about climate change from a variety of perspectives.
I graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism as a Comer Scholar, focusing on multimedia climate, science and health reporting. For my master’s thesis, I spent four weeks in Tucson, Arizona working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Southwest team to cover endangered species recovery efforts, environmental restoration projects and community conservation partnerships. Alongside graduate school, I worked as a science reporter for The Climate Daily podcast, where I researched, wrote and recorded 120 stories covering climate, science and technology news.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism, graduating summa cum laude from American University. As an undergraduate student, I reported on local climate change protests, covered congressional hearings on water resources and investigated on-campus waste distribution. While in Washington, D.C., I worked for Defenders of Wildlife, assisting the multimedia producer with producing and managing the nonprofit organization’s photo, video and graphic design content.
Communicating the science of climate change connects my passion to a professional pursuit. I plan to continue working and growing as a multimedia storyteller covering environmental science, health and justice.
Now, I’d like to get to know you! Feel free to message me and let’s connect.
